Congratulations to our Chair, Lorraine Campbell MBE

We're delighted to share that our chairperson, Lorraine Campbell, has been recognised in the Queen's Jubilee birthday honours for services to the community in Northern Ireland.

We were eager to put her forward for this award not just for what she has contributed to our own organisation over the past 7 years as a board member and chairperson, but to also acknowledge her long and fruitful career in housing including her time at the Housing Executive and also more recently with the Radius Board.

Lorraine was a Regional Manager at the Housing Executive with responsibility for the management, maintenance, and improvement of over 36,000 homes. Throughout her career, she championed customer service and tenant participation. As District Manager, she set up the Housing Executive's first customer panel and hers was one of the first offices to achieve a Charter Mark. Subsequently, as Assistant Director, she developed a strategy that delivered Charter Mark and later Customer Service Excellence accreditation for all local offices. She has worked with the Housing Community Network at all levels.

Since retirement, she has also served as a board member of the Community Relations Council and Fold Housing Association and participates in Business in the Community's Time to Read programme.

Colm McDaid, Chief Executive of Supporting Communities, remarked that this award was a “richly deserved recognition for all Lorraine has done to encourage community and tenant engagement in social housing over the past 40 plus years.”

Congrats, Lorraine!
