2024 Scholarships Launched!

Stephen marks from Supporting Communities with two of our previous scholarship winners, ALEX HAMILL and CAMERON MCCAW

Supporting Communities is delighted to announce we are bringing back both of our scholarship programmes for 2024.

The Gallaher Trust Scholarship

Now in its third year, The Scholarship Fund, supported by the Gallaher Trust, is aimed at helping students from the Ballymena area who want to pursue STEM or Business degrees at a university in Northern Ireland.

We will award this scholarship to two students. They will receive £2,000 per year for up to four years and £1,500 for IT equipment in their first year.

The James Kane Foundation Scholarship

The James Kane Foundation Scholarship targets students in the Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon Council (ABC) area who are applying to Queens or Ulster University this year to study STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) degrees.

There will be two recipients of this award, worth £2,000 per year of your course for up to three years (£6,000 in total).

We have had some genuinely excellent recipients of both awards in the past, and we are excited to meet future scholars through the programme this year.

Stephen Marks, who manages the scholarships, remarked, “I am thrilled to have been able to continue our work with both the Gallaher Trust and The James Kane Foundation to support deserving young people to achieve their goals for higher education. At Supporting Communities, we are passionate about ensuring these scholarships reach those most in need, and I look forward to facilitating a rigorous application and interview process for both funds.”

Applications for both funds must be submitted by 5 pm on 30 June 2024. Get applying, and good luck!
