HATE INCIDENTS PRACTICAL ACTIONS (HIPA) SCHEME

Have you been a Victim of Crime or has your home been attacked because of your race, sexuality, disability, political opinion or religious belief?

If so, you may be eligible for personal and home protection measures under the Hate Incidents Practical Actions (HIPA) Scheme.

This scheme is available across Northern Ireland to support victims of hate incidents at their homes, whether they are owner-occupiers or tenants in privately rented or Housing Executive properties.

Once an incident has been confirmed by the police, minimum repairs may be carried out to secure the property (make temporary wind and watertight repairs) and remove property to a Housing Executive storage facility if necessary. If requested there will be a follow up visit by your local Police Hate Incident and Minority Liaison Officer who can provide a personal attack alarm to the occupants if required and can discuss provision of additional security measures.

To report an incident contact your local PSNI station on 0845 600 8000 and ask for the Hate Incident and Minority Liaison Officer.
